Eduardo Jose Casal


Eduardo Casal is a litigation associate who concentrates his practice on complex commercial litigation matters. Mr. Casal’s years of civil litigation experience includes cases involving breach of contract, specific performance, fraud, fiduciary duties, shareholder derivate disputes, corporate infighting, construction, and foreclosure, among others. Mr. Casal is also experienced in appellate matters, having participated in numerous appeals, and working as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Jonathan D. Gerber of the Fourth District Court of Appeal.

Professional Accomplishments

  • Defended individual against a foreign entity and its related subsidiary in multi-million dollar suit, resulting in judgment of no liability and entitlement to attorney’s fees. In related litigation, despite other defendants being found liable and an adverse trial court order, secured appellate opinion finding that defendants were entitled to collect their
    attorney’s fees against the foreign entity as well as their appellate attorney’s fees.
  • Represented majority shareholders in case involving corporate in-fighting and assets seized by minority shareholder, who utilized a national bank to transfer funds via cashier’s checks. Following extensive litigation, reached favorable monetary settlement which also eliminated minority shareholder. Also reached settlement with the national bank.
  • Represented surviving shareholder against deceased shareholder’s heir, where heir desired to liquidate companies and alleged corporate misconduct. Achieved summary judgment on many significant issues, which led to favorable settlement.
